Pembacaan nominasi Oscars 2022 baru saja berlangsung beberapa jam lalu. Setelah melalui proses voting yang berlangsung hampir setahun lamanya, akhirnya The Academy mengumumkan deretan nominasi yang diwarnai banyak kejutan.
Tahun ini, Kristen Stewart mengejutkan banyak pihak lewat keberhasilannya meraih nominasi Oscars pertama lewat perannya sebagai Lady Diana di film “Spencer.” Begitu pula dengan Kirsten Dunst yang juga sama-sama mendapatkan nominasi Oscars pertama kalinya lewat perannya di film “The Power of The Dog.” Film ini juga memborong 11 kategori nominasi lainnya sehingga digadang akan membawa piala Oscars terbanyak di perhelatan tahun ini.
Beyonce dan Billie Eilish bersaing memperebutkan penghargaan “Best Original Song” lewat masing-masing lagu “Be Alive” dan “No Time to Die.” Nominasi ini juga menjadi nominasi pertama bagi keduanya.
Oscars 2022 rencananya akan diselenggarakan tanggal 27 Maret 2022 mendatang dari The Dolby Theatre, Hollywood & Highland Center, Los Angeles. Belum ada keputusan pasti tentang format acaranya nanti dikarenakan wabah varian Omicron yang masih merajalela di Amerika Serikat. Namun yang pasti, tampilan selebriti di karpet merah akan tetap menjadi salah satu suguhan utama yang bisa disaksikan nantinya.
